Job Description

About the Role:

As a result of continuous company growth, GPA is looking for a Civil / Structural Engineer to join our Darwin team.


This is a unique opportunity to contribute to our expanding office while supporting the growth of the Civil/Structural discipline and driving business development initiatives. You’ll have the chance to be part of a growing team that takes a fresh approach to engineering and delivers cutting-edge solutions across various sectors.

  • Interstate candidates are welcome to apply if you are willing to relocate to Darwin. 

Key Duties:

  • Lead and develop the civil/structural engineering team in Darwin.
  • Engage in a diverse range of projects across sectors such as oil & gas, mining, water, power and more.
  • Provide expertise in the design, modelling, and analysis of structural systems, including foundations, support structures (concrete, steel, timber), and civil works.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to deliver fit-for-purpose engineering solutions.
  • Contribute to business development efforts and maintain strong client relationships

Desired Skills and Experience

Ideally, your skills and experience will include the following:

  • Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an Australian-recognized institution.
  • Experience: Extensive industry experience, with a strong background in heavy industries such as oil & gas, mining, material handling and power.
  • Skills: Proficient in structural design and analysis, with experience in software such as Space Gass, Microstran, Limcon/RAM, Strand 7.  Civil design experience (drainage, earthworks, roadworks) is advantageous.
  • Leadership: Experience leading project teams and fostering client relationships.
  • Standards Knowledge: Familiarity with Australian standards including AS1170, AS1657, AS3600, AS4100, and AS5100.
  • Professional Certification: Chartered Engineer status (or working towards it) is an advantage.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

 

A requirement for this role is to complete a satisfactory pre-employment medical and Australian police clearance.
